Lavender Rights Project's Black Trans Comedy Showcase 2023: A Fundraiser for Black Trans Liberation
Seattle Pride
We’ll be at SIFF Cinema Egyptian on June 10th, from 7pm to 10pm with doors opening at 6:30pm.
You’ll be able to donate to LRP, bid on raffles, tip our performers in cash, and learn how to protect Black trans life!
What’s a comedy show without comedians? We are bringing back last year’s Portland talent, Mx Dahlia Belle and introducing KJ Whitehead from Chicago to our showcase. I must also mention that we are working with THE ICON HERSELF, TS MADISON!! She will be our lovely hostess and will make sure everyone is having a great time.
This is a chance for you to see how our work at LRP has grown and how the community has had a major impact in our progress. There will be a special guest performance from our dearest friend and family member Beyonce Black St James who hails all the way from Spokane, WA as the former reigning Miss UTOPIA Island Goddess.
Bring your cash tips because she’s coming in hot and ready to give y’all one of her signature performances. Beyonce has been so gracious in offering to share how LRP has directly impacted her life. We are just amazed at her journey and can’t for the community to see how she is just one of our beloved community members who we've been able to help.
There is ADA wheelchair seating available upon request but limited. Masks will be required unless you are eating or drinking. There will also be ASL interpretation from our good friends Malcolm and RaeRae from last year!
We really want Pride to be a joyous time for Black trans people. If you feel some community members may need a sponsored ticket to our comedy showcase, please send their contact information to angel@lavrights.org and we will try our best to accommodate. There are also options to purchase a ticket on behalf of someone or donate in your absence, so please contact us with your questions!
