Open Call For Art Submissions: 50th Anniversary Art Exhibit

For the 50th anniversary of Pride in Seattle, Seattle Pride and Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center joint Pride Internship cohort is organizing an art exhibit that will be on display at Pride in the Park in Volunteer Park on June 1st. LGBTQIA+ artists may submit up to four pieces of art related to queerness for selection. If selected, you must prepare your work so it is ready to hang. If a work will be framed, please include the dimensions of the frame in the entry description.

Application eligibility:
- Artist must identify as a part of the LGBTQIA+ community
- QTBIPOC and other marginalized creators are centered
- Art must be related to queerness
- All ages are welcome; artists under the age of 18 must have parental/guardian consent to participate
- We are only accepting work that can be displayed on walls, such as paintings or prints. No freestanding sculptures or fan-fiction art will be accepted. If you create smaller pieces such as jewelry or crafted materials, it will only be considered if it is able to be displayed in a hangable case or frame.
- Artists must be able to transport their work to Capitol Hill before May 29th and must pick-up their artwork by June 7th.
Timeline of Events:
- Deadline to Submit: March 13th, 2024, 11:59pm PST
- Announcement of Selected Works: April 3rd, 2024, 11:59pm PST
- Exhibition Date: June 1st, 2024
Works will be selected by a mix of youth interns in the Pride Internship program, Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center’s Youth Advisory Council, and facilitating staff at Seattle Pride and Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center.
