Pride Speaks: Disability in the LGBTQIA+ Community

, WA

Pride Speaks is a recurring speaking series focused on various topics which impact our LGBTQIA+ community. Each session, Seattle Out & Proud Foundation invites experts and community members with lived experience to share their knowledge, reframe issues, and inspire action. After the panel discussion or talk, there's time for audience Q&A.

This very special Pride Speaks event will be in-person, at the infamous Pike Place Market Theater.

This Pride Speaks focuses on the intersection of queerness and disability.
New research shows that LGBT people are more likely to have a disability than the general population. For example, in a survey of more than 26,000 transgender people, 39% reported having a disability, and one in three lesbians and bisexual women report having a disability in a population-based survey in Washington.

Join us to hear from our panel of experts on how disability - visible and invisible - intersects with being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
