In honor of Seattle Pride’s 50th Anniversary and to celebrate LGBTQIA+ history, Seattle Pride is inviting youth, ages 13-18, to submit their poetry and prose to the Youth Voices Award contest. Share your perspective, honor our past, and make the future better for all LGBTQIA+ youth with your writing!
Submit your work by August 1, 2024 for a chance to win prizes and be featured in Seattle Pride Magazine.
2024 Youth Voices Submission Guidelines
Theme
Past, Present, Future
Who Can Enter
All LGBTQIA2S+ writers aged 13-18
Open to students who reside in or have ties to the Pacific Northwest, including public, private, and homeschooled students.
Categories
Poetry: Up to 5 poems (maximum 15 pages single-spaced; no minimum)
Prose (Fiction or Nonfiction): Up to two works (combined maximum of 4,000 words; no minimum)
How to Submit
Work should be submitted using the Youth Voices Submission Form.
Prizes
$150 for first place winners in each category
Prize packages and Seattle Pride swag for first, second, and third place winners
Publication in Seattle Pride Magazine
