A Gateway to Career Opportunities in LGBTQIA2S+ Advocacy and Event Planning

Jan 24, 2025 | Seattle Pride

Seattle Pride and Seattle's LGBTQ+ Center have partnered again to host the 2025 Pride Youth Internship Program. This paid six-week program creates a unique opportunity for LGBTQIA2S+ youth (ages 16–22) to step into leadership roles, gain hands-on experience, and help shape the annual Seattle Pride in the Park festival in June.

The QTBIPOC-centered program will allow interns to create a space for LGBTQIA2S+ teens and young adults at Seattle Pride in the Park while learning how to communicate with team members, manage event operations, organize budgets, and create an inclusive experience for their peers.

“We value our local LGBTQIA2S+ youth and we think incorporating youth voice and leadership into Pride Month events is important,” said Nick Albritton, Seattle Pride director of community development & programs. “We’re excited to see their impact on this year’s events.”

“The pride internship cultivates a beautiful community space where young people get a chance to celebrate together,” said Jing Jing Wang, Seattle’s LGBTQ Center youth advocacy program co-manager. “It is so fulfilling to support a group of interns with their professional development as they envision that space. The interns and facilitators always have a blast seeing the space come to life at Pride in the Park!”

Program Details:

Internship Dates: March 13 – April 29, with event activation on June 7.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5–7 p.m., with additional flexible independent work (10 hours/week total).
